Northern Sustainability Summit

We were headline sponsors at the event which brought together businesses from all sectors with a shared interest in sustainability. We shared details about our network investment projects and the ways in which we're making it easier for people to connect to the network through online data tools and face-to-face support from our connections team. 

UK100's Breathing Life: A Decade of Local Air Quality Ambition

A new piece of research was launched to showcase a decade of clean air achievements across combined authorities and local authorities. This was a fantastic opportunity for us to hear more about the successes and challenges faced by local authorities in fulfilling their climate strategies and clean air ambitions, allowing us to better understand how we can enhance our support for local government across our region.

Success in Cumbria

We celebrated business successes in Cumbria as headline sponsors of the Cumbria Tourism Awards. It was fantastic to see so many great businesses celebrated for their quality, service and sustainability across Cumbria. Congratulations to all the winners! 

We also joined the Insider Invest in Cumbria event, which helped us understand the needs of businesses and talk in more detail about the investments being made in the region. This includes our own £60m upgrade works at Harker substation to provide additional capacity. The project is part of our wider £250 investment in the 'Cumbria Ring'. 

Finally, we joined the Community Energy Event and learned more about the new low carbon technology innovations and community energy projects underway in Cumbria. Understanding key challenges on the ground and what support we can provide is crucial to our stakeholder engagement.
