Peter Emery appointed as Chief Executive Officer at Electricity North West

Electricity North West is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Emery to the post of Chief Executive Officer. Peter will be taking over from Steve Johnson who has held this post since 2008.

Mr Emery will be joining the company from Drax Group plc where he served for over a decade and most recently in the post of Group Operations Director. This former Altrincham Grammar School pupil is returning to the North West region with a wealth of global energy experience garnered over a thirty year career in the sector. Mr Emery has also worked with Government and Regulators to enable the delivery of ambitious national and international climate change goals.

Of the appointment, John Roberts, Chairman of Electricity North West said; “We’re delighted to welcome Peter to Electricity North West. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a clear focus on achieving the highest levels of customer service delivered through colleagues working in a safe operating environment. His appointment will enable the Company to build on its successful record in these important areas.

He added; “On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank Steve Johnson. Since its separation from United Utilities, Steve has successfully ensured that Electricity North West is recognised and valued by stakeholders and customers for the service it provides to the region and the Board thanks him for his exceptional service.”

Mr Emery will take up the post of Chief Executive on 17th May 2016.
