The power network operator had asked customers to reduce their electricity use to avert the need for planned power cuts.
Steve Cox, incident manager at Electricity North West, said: "We've had an absolutely fantastic response from customers in Lancaster, Morecambe and the surrounding area who have been saving energy to help us keep power on to everyone.
"Thank you to every single person who reduced their demand. This has helped give our engineers extra time to add additional resilience into the substation and we are in a much stronger position now."
While customers no longer need to actively reduce demand, Electricity North West is asking them to be sensible with the use of power until the substation is back up to full capacity.
